Greetings. My name is JV Altharas, and I’d like to welcome you to the first reveal of the Realm of Aeodar. My mission is to deliver the most expansive, immersive fantasy realm the world has ever known. I’ve been slowly but surely worldbuilding, creating content, and scheming in general for the last couple decades, and it’s finally time to get it on.
I’m a lifelong singer, author, podcaster, chef, business guy, sex/kink educator, student of history, and all-around freak of nature. In sharing the Realm of Aeodar with you, I’ll bring every skill I have to bear, and over time you’ll be able to hear the music, share the stories, eat the food, drink the drink, and eventually wear the fashions of my realm. This is a massive undertaking, but thankfully I’ve got the rest of my life to work on it.
Aeodar is a vast fantasy realm I’ve been nursing along for many years, and it’s finally time to start sharing it with the world. While I take much inspiration from the giants upon whose shoulders i stand, such as Tolkien and Martin, this is not one of their stories.
Countless amazing tales have been told of elves, dwarves, halflings, and dragons; and the story of Aeodar does not need to be the next one. This is a tale of the humans of Aeodar, and the good and evil they do. It’s a story of kings, and queens, and great sorcerers, but also of commoners, servants, merchants, and warriors.
I also give you my personal assurance there will never be a vampire or a werewolf in Aeodar. Blood magic and shapeshifters? Sure! I love me some blood magic and shapeshifters! But vampires and werewolves have also been done enough times by enough people that nobody needs me writing about them.
I wrote the first novel set in Aeodar back in 2010, and during the course I realized that a few of the songs I wrote with my old band would be a great fit to the storyline. That grew into a concept to include music in the story in a way I’ve never seen done before.
The Kingdom of Carellia is a noble culture that prizes art and artistry. Music and art are woven into society, and I just couldn’t tell this story without also sharing the music. So I embarked on a several-year quest to explore what I wanted the music to be, and as it turned out, it makes the most sense to start sharing the music first.
The rest of this site will allow you to dig deeper into the music, get your first taste of the story of Aeodar, and peek through the crack of the door I just opened. Shortly I’ll be kicking off a new podcast devoted to this project, allowing me to start sharing the stories behind the music.
