Dream No. 7 (Tree of Shadows)

As I dream

I feel my flame lost once again

This sanity

A beacon somewhere

Off amongst the stars

Now wand’ring for all time

Trapped here within my mind

And I weep

As I feel the ravages of time

Fearing sleep

That I might somehow be

Deafened by the cries

Of tears I can’t recall

I must relive them all

As I dream

The madness wanes

Can’t I walk right thought these walls

And now I’m free

To once again bathe in the light

But for how long?

And will I ever see the end of night

Can no one hear my cries

Beneath these astral skies

I finally see

The prison where I keep myself

The shackles that I forged

And now I cry no more

As I dream

My soul is free

Sailing the stars as I dream

As I dream

I conquer the pain

If only I could know this peace

When I’m awake

As I dream

The answers seem

A simple thing

As I dream

As I dream

I feel no pain

Must I return from this dream?
